In 1972, Gregg's opened its first restaurant in Warwick, Rhode Island. A comfortable 130-seat, family-style restaurant with affordable prices, the menu was limited to mainly deli-style sandwiches, homestyle soups, chowder, a variety of salads, a bakery and a beer/wine menu. Over the years, the menu grew to include dinners and daily specials as well as late night breakfast items. A main attraction was our luscious desserts, prepared strictly from scratch and using only the highest quality ingredients. Seating was increased and a Take-out Shoppe was added so that customers could conveniently purchase all of our items to go, including our fabulous desserts. Thanks to the popularity of the concept we were able to open additional units in 1979 (East Providence), 1985 (Providence) and 1993 (North Kingstown). These restaurants expanded on the original concept and featured pubs in addition to the traditional dining rooms. Each one was graciously received by the communities they serve and have established themselves as popular gathering spots for families and friends throughout the state. Today Gregg's remains dedicated to the concept which made us a Rhode Island tradition. We are a clean, comfortable family style restaurant with delicious, high quality homestyle food at affordable prices. We are truly a local company and take our role in the community seriously. The many charitable programs we participate in are the cornerstone of that commitment.
